Background Search
On Someone
The idea of doing a background check on
someone usually doesn't cross the mind of most
people.
If you have never done a background check on
someone before, you would think it's very difficult. I
thought so too until I made a search on my suspicious
looking tenant and I realized that I should have done
that along time ago as he had a criminal
record.
The kind of information that you can expect
to get from a background check would include the
following:
1.
Personal records (address history, phone numbers, alias/maiden
names, social web search, date of birth, relatives, email
addresses, spouses/roommates locators, etc)
2.
Criminal history (state/federal records on arrests, warrants,
convictions, incarcerations, felonies, misdemeanors, DUIs and
criminal driving violations)
3.
Court Records (civil filings, civil actions, bankruptcies,
liens and judgments)
4.
Property information such as on properties owned, mortgage
records, purchase value etc
The common consensus is that a background check on someone is used
only by government agencies such a law enforcement and
criminal justice courts, and that it is time consuming, and
ridiculously expensive.
To those who have never done one before, you will think like
this but the truth is, background checks can be done easily and
cheaply these days online.
Today, all you need is a full name, and a desire to know the
background of the people in your life. There are many companies
or service providers that offer you the ability to simply punch
in a full name of the person you are seeking information on,
and comprehensive results appear from the most reliable of
sources.
As it has become so easy and cheap to do a background
check on someone, there is no reason not to do so
if you are worried or suspicious about
someone.
I regret I didn’t do a background on my suspicious tenant
for a long time until it was almost too late.
